A Message from Gabrielle
I have always been interested in listening to other people’s stories. I am drawn to the way our previous life experiences have shaped the person that we are today. In particular, the importance of our early relationships and attachments to our wellbeing. I see wellness as not merely an absence of symptoms but rather the presence of positive physical and mental well-being.
I would describe my practice as calm and grounding. I use a holistic approach, looking at all aspects of my client’s wellbeing, rather than just focussing on their current symptoms. My therapy is evidenced-based and particularly influenced by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment Theory and Positive Psychology.
I hold a special interest in working with clients during the perinatal and early parenting period although enjoy working with clients with all different presentations.
I have a deep desire to help others to see the value and strength in themselves. As your psychologist I bring my personal qualities of acceptance, kindness, and respect to help you connect with your mind and body. Through the therapeutic relationship we can collaborate to help you to grow, find meaning and connection.
I am a wife and mother of two young and very energetic boys. I enjoy being in nature, and spending time with the people I care about. I love to increase my knowledge, in my other job I work as a mental health researcher. In my spare time I enjoy coffee, Pilates, yoga, taking trips to the beach, and playing touch football.
